Katie Scott – Wellbeing & Inclusion Co-ordinator

Katie has been in working in social care for over 9 years and has been working at Deanston House since August 2021 as a Senior Support Worker.

During her career, she has worked with children, young people and adults who have complex additional support needs and worked closely with individuals who have experienced trauma and supported them to communicate their feelings through methods of communication that is meaningful to them.
She is currently studying her SVQ 4 in Care Services Leadership and Management and is very passionate about her continuous professional development which she feels will ensure she can support individuals with the most up to date knowledge and skills supporting them holistically.

Katie is passionate about communication methods and will always work to ensure that individuals have their voices heard to promote their inclusion and to ensure they achieve the best possible outcomes.
This new role is aimed at ensuring the inclusion and well-being of each individual at Deanston House and this will be promoted through a wide range of 1-1 activities and group sessions, ensuring their needs and interests are at the center of their care.

Previously she worked at Falkirk Council as a Wellbeing Co-ordinator as well as being a Team Leader. She has completed her NVQ 2 and 3 and prior to this she completed an HNC as an early years practitioner.
