Jorden is a Registered Learning Disability Nurse with over ten years’ experience in supporting people with a learning disability in a range of health and social care sectors.
Since qualifying with a Batchelor in Learning Disability Nursing with Distinction, Jorden has developed a special interest in supporting adults with a dual diagnosis of learning disability and autism spectrum disorder. In 2016, she completed an Enhanced Community Practice course, which afforded her the opportunity to develop knowledge and skills in supporting people with a learning disability and autistic spectrum disorder in community settings.
Over the last few years Jorden has expanded her experience as a clinical nurse and leader in the independent care sector, in roles that have included Staff Nurse, Quality Assurance Lead, Senior Staff Nurse, Senior Charge Nurse and in care home management roles, before joining Deanston House Limited in March 2020 as a Clinical Lead Nurse.
Jorden has a passion for promoting the delivery of person centred support, which is achieved within the framework for Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) and active support, aimed at developing Service User’s independence and choice to achieve meaningful and measurable outcomes for Service Users.
Jorden feels that ensuring Service Users reach their individual goals and get the most out of life is vitally important and she leads the team to achieve this in her everyday practice.
